This month, we hosted all our employees from across the world at our second annual company retreat in Stockholm, and what a week it was. Even I found myself, at times, staggered by the journey we have taken and the successes we have accomplished over the past year.
Last year, we held our company gathering in Iceland, at our headquarters, and I remember the vision at that time well: by this time next year, we will have launched our Nordics data center strategy at scale and will be rising fast to become one of the global industry leaders in sustainable data centers.
We have not been proven wrong! atNorth has doubled in employee count since 2022, bringing talented individuals from across multiple nationalities, regions, and countries to the team. We have doubled the number of data center facilities across the Nordics with additional sites under construction and planning. And, we have significantly grown our revenue base, demonstrating just how receptive the market is to a sustainable, de-carbonizing platform to support business critical workloads and provide a pathway to low-carbon digital operations.
This aggressive growth and incredible progress created a real energy amongst our team, alongside the excitement to put a face to a name, meet in person and get to know one another in a way that isn’t always possible over Zoom or Teams. I must admit that the highlight of my week was exactly that and I suspect the lasting memory will be our very own atNorth Amazing Race through the city of Stockholm. From recreating that famous photo of Abba to striking a pose with a castle guard, this was a great reminder of the fun, supportive, and passionate culture we have at atNorth.
There is no doubt that atNorth is at a tipping point and I am incredibly proud to be at the helm of the ship as we steer the company towards new adventures and unchartered waters.
